Contributed by an Anonymous Source. Posted on Monday, November 19, 2007 at 3:00 PM (EST)

The Ataris are planning a short tour in December to play a run of acoustic dates. Frontman Kris Roe is promising to feature a album-length performance of Blue Skies, Broken Hearts - Next 12 Exits... in its entirety.

The band is currently booking the dates and searching for promoters in Chicago, Denver, Salt Lake, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Anaheim, Bakersfield, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Tijuana, Mexico, Phoenix, Albuquerque, El Paso, Denton, TX, Houston, Little Rock, Atlanta and St. Louis for the shows they hope to book.

The band released Welcome the Night earlier this year.

Check out the comments people are leaving under that article. I think its sad, some of the things people are saying. But thats just my $0.02.

1:10 pm - New Track

You can find a new track to download here: http://absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=202674

I like it. And I'm sure I wasn't the only one here who ripped the original unmastered Welcome the Night... but needless to say, I like the new songs they've added and am very glad they did so. Thoughts anyone?

10:40 pm - Pre-order with T-Shirt

I guess this is kinda old news, but you can pre-order Welcome the Night from a link from the Myspace page. It comes with a lot of cool stuff... the CD gets there the day it's released, you can download the MP3s before they're released, and you get a song right now. Also, for $5 extra, you can get a limited edition t-shirt. So, yeah... definitely worth it!

1:06 am - Sanctuary Records Signs The Ataris - November 15, 2006

Sanctuary Records Group North America is pleased to announce the release of The Ataris’ new CD on Sanctuary/Isola Recordings, the band’s own imprint. The Ataris, whose last CD, So Long Astoria, sold over 1 million copies worldwide and spawned two top-ten hit singles, will release Welcome The Night in February, 2007. Says Executive VP and GM Bob Cahill, “I can’t wait for the industry and fans to hear this CD. The Ataris have delivered an album that has real depth, representing huge artistic growth while retaining the intensity and honesty that has earned them legions of fans worldwide. It also contains several massive hits, which Sanctuary intends to deliver in kind. I look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with the band.”

Comments The Ataris’ Manager Darren Lewis, “The Ataris are excited to establish their own label and to be working with a true artist-oriented, independent-minded company like Sanctuary Records Group. We see arrangements like this as the future of the music business and we are glad to be embracing that future with a forward-thinking company like Sanctuary.”

Hey everyone. This is an Ataris background that I made a few years ago. I thought it would be appropriate to put it up here. Feel free to use it, no credit necessary.

Hey you guys.

Do you have any favourite pictures of The Ataris that you would like to share?
These include pictures from concerts, photoshoots or even the CD booklets.
Scan them and post them on here! (Remember to put them under an LJ cut plz).

A new layout is coming up soon so stay tuned for that.

Also.....what do u guys think about sending me your pictures, holding any Ataris album, with a little message for the Ataris under it, so I can make a collage and send it to them?

12:02 pm - show problems

As some of you may know the Ataris have been having problems with their flights, and have missed the gig in Costa Rica. As a result of the flight screw-ups, they are going to be missing the show in Monterrey as well.

Info's taken from their myspace account.

Yay everyone, we got a new layout. This was chucked together by me really quickly. This is to let you all know the community is NOT dead, and that there will be some changes around here. Hopefully we can get some more interaction going on, with newer better layouts (I promise).
